Service of Process
Service of process is the act of delivering legal paperwork to an individual or entity in relation to a lawsuit. Wikipedia says 'the procedure employed to give legal notice to a person (such as a defendant) of a court or administrative body's exercise of its jurisdiction over that person so as to enable that person to respond to the proceeding before the court, body or other tribunal'. A process server is the individual delivering the notice.
I'm sure you've heard some of the recent news stories that give this particular portion of the investigative industry a black eye. There have been Private Process Serving companies in several states who have been accused of filing hundreds and/or thousands of false service returns (proofs of service) with local courts indicating that someone was served when they were in fact not served at all.
We consider Private Process Servers to be one of the most important people in the legal process. This is not only true for the plaintiffs but also for the defendants as well. Both sides of the case should have equal opportunity to make their case in front of the judge and/or jury. That's what our legal process is all about. Proper service helps ensure this.
Here at Double Helix Services, Inc. we take great pride in our process serving. We have been serving papers since the very beginning of our firm's existence and are proud of the fact that we’ve never had a contested service succeed. We go to great lengths to make sure that we obtain proper service under the legal guidelines on every case. We get names of those served and any other details or information available to provide indisputable proof of service. This can include pictures, property descriptions and more. If necessary, court room testimony for contested serves can be provided as well. Call us today with your service needs. We cover several counties on both sides of the state line and also belong to a network which will allow us to provide service for you nationwide.
